California Helps Finance Cleaner Diesel Trucks

The California Air Resources Board is offering a lease-to-own financing program that encourages small-business owners to replace their older diesel trucks with cleaner new equipment.

Officials said the objective is to encourage early compliance with ARB’s on-road diesel vehicle and tractor-trailer greenhouse gas regulations.

“This is a program that benefits small fleets and owner-operators,” said ARB Chairwoman Mary Nichols. “It provides them with an additional way to pay for a cleaner truck, even if their credit isn’t stellar.” More info can be found here

Limousine financing for Electric Limousines?

Rolls Royce Electric Limousine May Hit Streets in 2012

By Timon Singh

Electric transmissions are jump starting everything from domestic vehicles to public transportion these days, so it was only a matter of time before we heard about an electric limo in the works. Rolls Royce CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes recently hinted that the company is working on an electric, zero emissions limousine – and they may roll it out as soon as 2012

With parent company BMW planning a super luxurious ‘green car’ for the rich and famous in time for the 2012 Olympics, the pressure is on Rolls Royce to do something similar — especially since the company’s flagship £300,000 Phantom currently manages just 15 miles to the gallon.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Mr. Mueller Oetvoes said that an experimental super-green electric Rolls-Royce would be a “good idea.” Rumours are already circulating of a Rolls Royce that will ferry VIPs around the 2012 Olympics capable of running on either electric power or a fuel cell.

It seems there is definitely a market for a green Rolls — celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Cheryl Cole both own Rolls Royces yet proclaim their love for the environment. Muller Oetvoes said that ‘all options’ for alternatively-fuelled vehicles are being considered, so it is almost certain that Rolls Royce has something up their sleeve for 2012.

IT Equipment Leasing: IT Systems’ Role

The financial strain placed on the overall economy has increased pressure on financing companies to find more efficient ways of processing their business while maintaining a high level of support for their partners and customers alike. Governmental oversight has only added to the pressure businesses face today. Competition has increased which has led to the commoditization of standard lease / loan product offerings thus lowering profit margins. Companies need to evaluate technology as a means to offset these issues by streamlining their processes to allow employees more time to focus on revenue generating activities…more

Small business financing up in January

The Thomson Reuters/PayNet Small Business Lending Index climbed 18% in January compared with January 2011, reaching 100.8. The increase, the 18th consecutive double-digit gain, suggests small businesses are stronger than previously thought. However, the index was higher in December, as companies hurried to finish business before year-end. “It’s like a lukewarm cup of coffee — it’s not bad, but it’s not great,” PayNet President William Phelan said. “We’re all looking for really strong growth, and I’m not sure when we are going to get it.” Reuters (3/1)
